Types of Notifications and Reminders
You can set up the following notifications:
Reminders
- Weigh in
- Start Fasting
- Fast Journal
- New Learn Content
- Zero Updates
- Challenge Progress Updates
Milestones
- Goal reached
- Halfway through
- Last hour
- Surpassed goal
- Reached Goal Weight
- Fasting Zones
- Eating Window
Managing your notification settings
To manage your notifications, head to the 'Me' tab, and tap on the gear wheel icon in the upper right. On the 'Settings' screen, tap on 'Notifications'.
From here, you can select which notifications you'd like to receive, as well as the time you'd like to receive the 'Weigh in', 'Fasting Reminders' to start a fast, and 'Mood Logging' reminders.
Start Fasting reminders
The Start Fasting reminder is a great tool for making sure you never miss a fast. You can set a reminder for as little as once per week or as often as multiple times per day.
Head to the ‘Notifications’ screen (above)

Head to the Timer screen when you've loaded a fast but haven't started it and don't have an Eating Window set (if you have an Eating Window set, just tap Cancel Window on the timer and the Start Fast reminder button should appear):
- Tap on ‘Set Reminder'
- Tap ‘Add a reminder’ or tap the + icon in the upper right
- Select the time of day you’d like to receive your reminder
- Select the days of the week you’d like your reminder to repeat
- Tap ‘Save’
- Set another reminder: If you’d like to set another reminder for a different time, follow the same steps as above and you’ll receive both reminders at the specified times.
- Turn off a reminder: To turn a reminder on or off, use the toggle button.
- Edit an existing reminder: To edit a reminder, tap on the reminder, make your desired changes, and tap 'Save'.
- Deleting a reminder: To delete a reminder, tap on the reminder, scroll down, and tap ‘Delete reminder’.
Weigh in reminders
If you’re tracking your weight, we can send you a reminder to weigh in as often as you'd like.
Head to the 'Me' tab, scroll down to the weight graph and tap ‘Set reminder’ in the top-left corner. From here:
- Tap on the days of the week you’d like to weigh in. When a day is highlighted (red), you’ll know it’s selected.
- Choose the time of day you’d like to weigh in
- Tap ‘Set Alert’
- Edit an existing reminder: To edit a weigh in reminder, follow the same steps as above, then edit the day and/or time
- Deleting a reminder: To remove an existing reminder, tap ‘Delete alert’.
Troubleshooting
The below troubleshooting steps for Android and iOS/iPhone devices can often alleviate notification issues:
Android devices

Logout and uninstall the Zero app (your data and profile are saved in the cloud)

Clear cache and data through your phone’s Settings app

Restart your device

Reinstall and log in (be sure to log back in using the same method you previsly used to login on the Sign In screen)
Next, go ahead and check your notification settings within Zero:
- Tap the 'Me' tab
- Tap the gear icon (upper right)
- Tap 'Notifications'

iOS / iPhone devices
- Tap the 'Me' tab

- Tap 'Notifications'
- Tap 'Start fasting'
If the notifications within this particular menu are already turned on and you're not receiving them, close the Zero app and follow these steps:
- Open the device's 'Settings' (app with gear wheel icon)
- Tap 'Notifications'
- Scroll down and tap on 'Zero'
- Confirm 'Allow Notifications' is toggled to On
- Confirm 'Banners' and 'Lock Screen' are toggled On
- Toggle on desired 'Sound' and 'Badge' alerts
