What is a Protein Score?
When you log meals, Zero calculates your personal Protein Score that updates with each logged meal.
Your score is designed to:
- Simplify meal tracking in ways that help you achieve your goals, such as:
- Increase satiety (feeling ‘full’) and successful weight management
- Protect muscle and metabolic health, and learn what foods to prioritize or adjust
- Make it easier to hit your protein targets especially if you are fasting, working to build muscle and strength, on GLP1s, or working on increasing your protein intake.
- Increase your understanding and awareness of protein-forward choices
- Get faster and longer-lasting results as you learn over time, without micromanaging numbers or macros
Rather than focusing on strict calorie tracking, the Protein Score highlights quality and consistency.
Why This Matters for Fasting, Aging, Weight Management
If you fast, your eating window is doing a lot of work in a short amount of time. Prioritizing protein helps you:
- Support long-term metabolic health and sustainable weight loss
- Preserve lean muscle while fasting
- Recover better between fasts
- Feel more energized and less depleted
In addition, as we get older or if you are working on weight loss with or without GLP1s, you know getting enough protein is a top priority for all the same reasons above.
Your Protein Score helps you quickly determine whether your meals are actually supporting those goals.
Progress Over Perfection
Meal logging in Zero is not about being “perfect” or hitting exact numbers every day. It’s about:
- Building awareness
- Identifying patterns
- Making small, sustainable improvements
Even logging one meal a day can give you meaningful insight over time.
