Many people in the Zero community are fasting to manage their weight, which is why we've added new tools to help you track your weight, set weight goals and visualize your progress.
To start logging your weight, head to the History tab, where you'll receive a prompt to sync with Apple Health (iOS) or Google Fit (Android). When you sync with Apple Health or Google Fit, your existing weight history will appear in Zero, helping you visualize the impact of fasting on your weight over time.
On iOS devices, tap 'Sync with Apple Health', use the toggle button to 'Turn All Categories On', then tap 'Allow'.
On Android devices, tap 'Sync with Google Fit', then tap 'Allow'.
If you encounter any difficulty syncing Zero with Google Fit please navigate to the Google Fit app, tap 'Profile', then tap the gear icon in the top right. From there, tap 'Manage Connected Apps', then select Zero, and ensure it shows the 'Disconnect' button.
If you initially choose not to sync with Apple Health or Google Fit, you can do so at any time in the future by following these steps:
- Scroll to the Weight graph and tap 'Log Weight'
- Tap 'Connect with Apple Health or 'Connect with Google Fit'
- On iOS, tap 'Turn All Categories On'
- Tap 'Allow'
You're now ready to start tracking your weight! To weigh-in, navigate to your History tab and scroll down to the Weight graph. Tap on the green 'Log Weight' button, enter the date, time and weight, then tap 'Save weight'. Your new weight entry will now appear in your Weight graph and on the Journey screen.
Want to add a weight entry retroactively? Follow the same steps, and simply select the appropriate past date, time and weight.
If you’re tracking your weight, we can send you a reminder to weigh-in at the same time everyday, or as little as once per week.
To set-up a weigh in reminder, navigate to the History tab, scroll down to the weight graph, and locate the ‘Set reminder’ button in the lower right. From here:
- Tap on the days of the week you’d like to weigh-in. When a day is highlighted (red), you’ll know that it’s selected.
- Choose the time of day you’d like to weigh-in
- Tap ‘Set Alert’
To edit an existing weigh-in reminder, follow the same steps as above, then edit the day and/or time you’d like to weigh in. To remove an existing reminder, tap ‘Delete alert’.
Setting a weight goal
If you're fasting for weight loss, it can be a great idea to set a weight goal. To do so, navigate to the History tab, scroll down to the Weight graph, and tap on the 'Set Goal' button. Select your desired weight goal, then confirm by tapping on 'Save Changes'. Your goal weight will now appear in your Weigh graph, and when you reach your goal we'll send you a notification to celebrate your achievement!
To update your weight goal, tap on the button again (which will now show your goal weight) and either select a new weight goal, or remove it by tapping 'Reset'.
Viewing your weight history
To view your entire weight history, tap 'See More’ in the upper right of the graph, or simply tap on any data point in the graph itself. For an even more detailed view, tap 'See all data'.
Deleting a weight entry
There are two ways to delete a weight entry:
1. If you want to remove a weight entry that you've added to Zero manually, navigate to the Journey screen (in the History tab), and long-press on the entry you'd like to remove. Confirm that you want to 'Delete weight entry' and this entry will be removed from your account.
2. If you want to remove a weight entry that originated in Apple Health or Google Fit, you'll need to remove it from those apps directly.
In the Apple Health app, tap on your profile picture in the upper right, then navigate to 'Apps', locate Zero, and tap on 'Data'. From here, tap on 'Weight', then 'Edit' and remove the entry you'd like to delete.
In the Google Fit app, you can edit weight entries, but you won't be able to delete them (this isn't currently supported). To do so, open the Google Fit app, tap on 'Weight', then select the weight entry you'd like to edit. From there, choose the new weight, and tap 'Save'.
