Many people in the Zero community are fasting to manage their weight, which is why we've added new tools to help you track your weight, set weight goals and visualize your progress.
To start logging your weight, navigate to the History tab, and tap on the 'Connect' button to sync Zero with Apple Health (iOS) or Google Fit (Android). These apps are preloaded on your device and are currently required for tracking weight with Zero. Our team is working on manual weight tracking, and we hope to make this feature available shortly.
On iOS devices, tapping on the 'Connect' button will open Apple Health. From here, use the toggle button to turn-on 'Allow Zero to Write Data' and 'Allow Zero to Read Data'.
On Android devices, tapping on the 'Connect' button will launch a confirmation screen. Tap on 'Allow' and Zero will sync with your Google Fit account.
If you encounter any difficulty syncing Zero with Google Fit please navigate to the Google Fit app, tap on 'Profile', then tap on the gear icon in the top right. From there, tap on 'Manage Connected Apps', then select Zero, and ensure it shows the 'Disconnect' button.
Once you're connected to Apple Health or Google Fit, your existing weight history will appear in Zero, helping you visualize the impact of fasting on your weight over time.
You're now ready to start tracking your weight! To weigh-in, navigate to your History tab and scroll down to the Weight graph (below the 'Recent Fasts' chart). Tap on the green 'Weigh in' button, enter the date, time and weight, then tap on 'Save weight'. Your new weight entry will now appear in your Weight graph and on the Journey screen.
Want to add a weight entry retroactively? Follow the exact same steps, and simply select the appropriate past date, time and weight!
Set a reminder to weigh in
If you're tracking your weight on a daily basis, Zero can send you a weigh in reminder at the same time each day. To set up a daily reminder, navigate to the History tab, scroll down to the Weight graph and locate the 'Set Reminder' button in the top-left corner. Tap on the 'Set Reminder' button, and select the time you'd like to receive your daily weigh in notification.
Setting a weight goal
If you're fasting for weight loss, it can be a great idea to set a weight goal! To do so, navigate to the History tab, scroll down to the Weight graph, and tap on the 'Set Goal' button. Select your desired weight goal, then confirm by tapping on 'Save Changes'. Your goal weight will now appear in your Weigh graph, and when you reach your goal we'll send you a notification to celebrate your achievement!
If you'd like to update your goal, tap on the button again (which will now show your goal weight) and either select a new weight goal, or remove it by tapping 'Reset'.
Viewing your weight history
For a detailed view of your weight history, you can expand your weight graph into a landscape mode that will let you scroll through all previous weight entries.
Deleting a weight entry
There are two ways to delete a weight entry:
1. If you want to remove a weight entry that you've added to Zero manually, navigate to the Journey screen (in the History tab), and long-press on the entry you'd like to remove. Confirm that you want to 'Delete weight entry' and this entry will be removed from your account.
2. If you want to remove a weight entry that originated in Apple Health or Google Fit, you'll need to remove it from those apps directly.
In the Apple Health app, navigate to the Sources tab, locate Zero, then tap on 'Data'. From here, tap on 'Weight' then 'Edit' and remove the entry you'd like to delete.
In the Google Fit app, you can edit weight entries, but you won't be able to delete them (this isn't currently supported). To do so, open the Google Fit app, tap on 'Weight', then select the weight entry you'd like to edit. From there, choose the new weight, and tap 'Save'.
